Americanism 

100% Americanism

The Goal of our Americanism committee to promote an understanding and appreciation of American government, the rights and responsibilities of American citizenship, and activity in the American way of life through youth activities, community service, instruction of prospective citizens and legal immigrants, education and educational facilities, and protection of the U.S. flag from physical desecration.

 Oratorical competition

The Tattler Post #973 hosts the only local   American Legion High school Constional  Speach competition,  where high school Students compete for the Brigadier General William G Lafleur scholarship by studying and speaking about the U.S. Constitution and the duties of citizens to the country. The 2017 recipient, Emily Robinson won $1,000  scholarship from the Tattler Post. Additionally, Miss Robinson Competed at the State competition and won an additional $350. 

Rose Hill Cemetery Memorial

In Partnership with Rosehill Cemetary, The Tattler Post Coordinates the largest local Memorial Day Parade. this parade is a long time tradition of the Northside of Chicago and we are honored to continue the tradition.  

The Americanism committee is chaired by the Americanism Officer Patrick Murray.
